Popis: The development of the Digital Single Market is one of the goals of the European strategy. Following the reform of the personal data protection legislation and the construction of an EU-wide uniform framework for electronic identification, the European lawmaker focuses on a new model of liability for digital providers. The Digital Services Act reshapes the regime originally provided under the Directive 2000/31/EC on electronic commerce, through the introduction of due diligence and transparency obligations for digital service providers and online platforms. The new regulatory framework is built around the figure of the web user, considered as the weak subject in the digital relationship due to the information and technological asymmetries that are amplified in a context where the rules are determined (so far) by the big players of the Internet.
