Magnetic Levitation Characteristics of HTS Bulk Above Electromagnets

Popis: In terms of forming track, the design of electromagnet (EM) guideway (EMG) specimen for high-temperature superconducting (HTS) maglev is presented in this paper. The magnetic field generated by one of the designed EMG specimens with different excitation currents was simulated with COMSOL Multiphysics. The simulation results were verified by the experiment, indicating the validity of the model. As expected, the designed EMG specimen could provide homogenous magnetic field along the guideway for HTS-EMG maglev. The EMG specimens with different geometries were made for comparative analysis. The transverse magnetic fields generated by different EMG specimens were simulated and measured for observing the relationship between the transverse magnetic field and maglev characteristics. Then, the characteristics of HTS-EMG system for HTS maglev, such as levitation force and guidance force, were discussed. The levitation forces were respectively obtained by adjusting current of the EMG coil and its vertical movement while the guidance forces were obtained when it was in lateral movement. The performance of characteristics with different geometries were analyzed in this study.
