Computational Egress Simulation and Analysis for Nuclear Reactor Building

Popis: In1 order to increase the fire safely level of nuclear power plant reactor building, occupant evacuation for reactor building during the maintenance period is investigated. The staff characteristics and site egress conditions for a reactor building during maintenance period are analyzed. The total occupant evacuation for various credible fire scenarios are simulated using computational evacuation simulation software MassMotion for a realistic result with the consideration of actual staff behaviors. The simulation results are analyzed in detail to observe the queuing location and major factors affecting the total evacuation time in each stage. The study indicates that the original evacuation design of reactor building has only considered the occupant evacuation in operation condition but not during maintenance period. This article summarizes the key points of fire evacuation of reactor buildings during maintenance period. Possible remedial measures based on the computation simulation results are also suggested to reduce the evacuation time and improve the level of safety for nuclear reactor buildings. New photography skill using panoramic camera is also used to develop an immersive visual tool for corporate interactive training.
