Popis: | A new approach in design and fabrication of a high light gathering power monochromator is presented. The theoretical considerations are discussed for the detection threshold and maximum achievable accuracies with reference to availability of the components (for a new design viz. Czerny-Turner Ebert-Fastie monocrometor). The design and fabrication aspects are presented especially for slits, grating and mirrors for achieving high throughput for the system. The output of the system is also compared both in terms of photoelectrons as well as in direct current for a photomultiplier tube as a detector. The monochromator also includes a facility for the selection of scanning drive either in sine mode or in cosec mode depending upon the application. |
