Popis: Biogeochemical budgets have been used for many years to provide insights into the magnitudes of nutrient fluxes, processes, and cycles in coastal waters and other environments, to examine the impacts of human activities on these processes, and to consider environmental impacts of alternative management options. This chapter summarizes the basic ideas of nutrient budgets, and presents some case studies and examples of ongoing management applications.
