Popis:	I present a rigorous outline of the thermodynamics of surfaces and interfaces that addresses adsorption, subsurface adsorption, surface and gas–solid reactions. Formulae are given for the calculation of the spreading pressure and isosteric heat of adsorption from experimental adsorption isobars. Thermodynamics-based discussions and conclusions are outlined in examples.
