Popis: This study is an investigation into women's motivations for engaging in or considering relationship infidelities. Specifically, existing literature tends to simplify women's potential motivations for engaging in or pursuing affair opportunities (while in committed monogamous relationships) as either reflecting 1) an explicit or implicit desire to switch from one committed mate to another (Buss et al., 2017) or 2) an explicit or implicit desire to obtain genes that would produce fit and attractive offspring (Jones et al., 2019). However, we believe that these previous - theory-driven - approaches to understanding women's infidelity tactics may be oversimplified and incomplete. Thus, we propose that a data-driven approach exploring self- and other-nominated motives and/or tactics for engaging in or considering an affair opportunity may provide us with a more diverse, ecologically valid, and complete picture of this aspect of women's sexuality.
