Popis: | The influence of pair interaction between ions in electrolyte solution and between ions and their images on the disjoining pressure II between two charged surfaces is studied in this paper. This interaction is described on the basis of a mean force field approximation. A closed set of equations for the urinary and binary electric potentials is deduced for the small plasma parameter μ = e 2 · κ/(ϵ · k B · T ) in the Debye-Huckel approximation. The electrolyte solution is considered on the basis of a simple model with constant dielectric permittivity of the medium and without taking into account the intrinsic size of ions. An analytical expression for the disjoining pressure has been obtained for dielectric flat plates embedded into a (1-1) electrolyte solution. A distortion of Debye's atmospheres near the charged interfaces due to the image forces can cause a noticeable deviation of the corrected disjoining pressure from the classic one and, as a consequence, can strongly influence the interaction between two flat plates. |
