This study discusses students’ achievement on English proficiency receptive skills test scores. At the same time, it is also aimed to provide a short review on the correlation of English 2, as a compulsory English course, to the student performance on reading and listening test. Results from two TOEIC prediction tests, held at the beginning and at the end of the course, are analyzed to see any statistically significant differences. The tool for data analysis is paired sample T-test. Findings of this study show that there is a statistically significant difference between students’ first test score and second test score. Furthermore, it is also found that the majority of students set a higher score in the second test. Even though it is not sole indication for English 2 course success rate, but at least the highlighted results has generally described the authentic outcomes of ELT practice in Payakumbuh State Polytechnic of Agriculture. |
