Popis: Children’s theater in the 1930s seldom engaged with the most controversial political rhetoric of its time centered on issues of labor justice, anti-racism, and anti-fascism. This essay looks at three children’s plays of the Federal Theatre Project (1935–1939) that did engage to investigate how children’s play and childhood imagination vanquish forces of violence, oppression, and inequality.
