Longitudinal patterns of smoking behaviours in adolescence and early adulthood and their association with modifiable and sociodemographic risk factors

Popis: This study aims to explore longitudinal patterns of smoking and their association with a range of modifiable and sociodemographic risk factors. Data from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) cohort will be used. The outcomes being investigated are smoking patterns derived from repeated measures of smoking, from ages 14 to 28 years, and the exposures include familial smoking, familial substance use, familial mental health, familial education, parental socioeconomic position, gender and ethnicity, peer substance use, other substance use, mental health and wellbeing, BMI, diet, physical activity, sleep, pregnancy, parenthood, cotinine, education, employment, neighbourhood deprivation, adverse childhood experiences and trauma.
