In this project, we we examine the extent to which internal access, information about how a person is thinking, impacts a person's reaction to someone committing a transgression towards someone else, including their willingness to forgive the transgressor. We examine these effects in comparison to the influence of internal vs. external attributions for the transgressor's behavior on forgiveness. We also examine how these effects might be influenced by individual differences related to narrative transportability, core worth, and self-esteem. |
