Electrochemical behaviour of α- and β-PbO2 Part II: Lithium diffusion from non-aqueous electrolyte

Popis: The cathodic behaviour of α- and β-PbO 2 was studied in the presence of lithium ions using slow-scan voltametry. The β-PbO 2 shows two peaks at 2.95 V and 2.45 V versus Li/Li + . However, in the case of α-PbO 2 , similar peaks appear at 2.74 V and 2.35 V versus Li/Li + . The values of D Li + calculated for both samples were 5 × 10 −13 cm 2 s −1 for α-PbO 2 and 10 −14 cm 2 s −1 for β-PbO 2 . The α phase seems to be a better lithium conductor than the β phase.
