Popis: | The origin of the collection of the Veterinary Anatomical Cabinet, linked to the creation of the Veterinary School of Cordoba in 1847, was marked by enlightened ideas and since then it has been supplied with materials that facilitate teaching. Consultation of the Historical Archive Collection of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has permitted the identification of numerous pieces, thanks to the minutes of meetings and record books compiled by the first director of the School, Professor Enrique Martin Gutierrez. A set of pieces of the 19th century that come from the workshops of artists such as Auzoux or Landsberg attains prominence. Most of them are kept at the Anatomy Museum where, nowadays, new pieces are being made with the plastination techniques, including a more than significant number of entire animals and organs. This set has converted the Faculty and Museum in a benchmark that today continues to ensure the conservation and enhancement of this heritage for teaching and enjoyment of citizens. |
