Popis: This scientific article seeks to clarify the influence of algorithms in the democratic exercise, with respect to elections and popular participation. The general objective of the article is to analyse the impact of algorithms in the democratic processes in the face of the dissemination of false information. Democracy is replicated in most States globally, and one of its main premises is the participation of voters in the process of choosing their representatives. In the Representative modality, voter citizens can choose their representatives, so that they can legislate and defend the interests of the community. However, with the advent of Globalization and new forms of communication, there is a lack of confidence in Democracy, aggravated by the feeling of lack of Representation. The technology, through virtual communication processes, online social networks, and the speed and flow of information assists in the social inclusion of citizens, which has a new tool for public participation, in addition to the opportunity to express their opinions more quickly, with greater reach and, sometimes, anonymity, but can also accentuate the representative crisis even more, since the dissemination of false information and that prejudice reputations, puts in check the democratic.
