Surplus military GSAP(Gun Sight Aimiug Point) cameras availa« ble to the public for as little as $20 may be modified for semihiglispeed photographic analysis. Alteration of governor and shutter makes possible film-transport speeds of over 100 frames per sec and exposure times of less than one thousandth of a sec. For a particular driving voltage, the speed of the cameras is constant within 1 per cent under controlled conditions; nevertheless a simple modification permitting a superimposed t ime trace is considered highly desirable. The resulting instrument is an inexpensive, durable, highly flexible semiprecision unit well suited for many types of photographic analysis. |
