Popis: | This paper describes the application of a new developed pattern-recognition technique, called the cross-correlation method to the diagnosis of heart disease as evidenced in the electrocardiogram, A study is made to see if the electrocardiographic leads can be used, employing a cross-correlation scheme—to the classification of the electrocardiograms into their respective disease categories. Experimental work has been limited to the analysis of the entire heart cycle of precordial leads V1, V2 and V3. In addition to one ‘normal’ ECG waveform, four cases of known cardiac diseases and one unknown (which is to be classified) are taken for the purpose of this study.Studies are also made to determine the appropriate sampling rate, the time and amplitude normalization procedures and the classification method. The results indicate that the cross-correlation technique may be used for ECG interpretation. |
