Spins and spin alignments inO16+16O inelastic scattering

Popis: | Angular correlation measurements have been performed for the heavy-ion inelastic channel {sup 16}O({sup 16}O,{sup 16}O){sup 16}O(3{sup {minus}}, 6.13 MeV) over a wide energy range. The spin alignment was determined and the range of acceptable values of {ital J} has been narrowed down for several structures in the excitation function. Our results rule out the possibility of any correlation between the structures in this channel and those in the elastic and the 6.05 MeV (0{sub 2}{sup +}) inelastic channel and are in conflict with an interpretation in terms of the band crossing model. |
