Popis: Adnan Menderes, Fatin Rustu Zorlu and Hasan Polatkan who were detained with the coup of 27 May 1960 were executed by the Supreme Court of Justice. The coup and subsequent developments in the country in the process of democratization have brought many years of debate. The social memory of the coup of 27 May 1960 was also included with this phenomenon. In the process of democratization after the coup, the traces of the coup were tried to be erased and the issue of the funerals of the executed and returned to the issue came to the agenda many times and attempts were made. However, this situation was reacted by military tutelage in the country and it was considered as a reckoning. The pressure and threats of military tutelage prevented the steps in this regard. However, in order to benefit from the legacy of the Democratic Party, the phenomenon has been raised and used in election campaigns. The attitude of The Army and the concerns of the politicians to vote had caused the issue of repatriation to last for many years. In spite of all obstacles, the process was able to result in 1990. The bodies of Adnaiaden Menderes, Fatin Rustu Zorlu and Hasan Polatkan were moved from Imrali Island to the Mausoleum in Istanbul.
