This paper presents the archaeometallurgical study of a series of metallic objects and other archaeological findings related to the metallurgical process (such as minerals, slag, crucibles…) which were deposited at the Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum of Granada. These objects belong to two Bronze Age sites that are now a day located in the province of Granada (Spain), specifically in the Guadix-Baza basin: Castellón Alto (Galera) and Terrera del Reloj (Dehesas de Guadix). We have tried to obtain as much information as possible by using a diverse methodology which includes XRF, metallography, macroscopic analysis, the study of the context, etc.; with the ultimate objective of trying to understand the characteristics of the metallurgical process and the influence of metallurgy in the argaric groups of this region. |
