Popis: | This In the field of Biometrics, Fingerprint is among the most used and well accepted biometric traits. The fingerprint recognition has higher accuracy, reliability and simplicity as compared to other biometric traits. Fingerprint is obtained by a live scan or an offline scan by the biometric System. These systems differentiate stored fingerprint with the obtained fingerprint by comparing their minutiae points. Minutiae are major features of a fingerprint, arising from local ridge discontinuities: ridge endings and ridge bifurcations. Therefore, extraction of true minutiae points in addition to the removal of false minutiae by enhancement of fingerprint image is important. Such research challenge is impacting on complete applications based on fingerprint systems. The scope this paper is presents a survey on different methods of enhancing of fingerprint image as well as the different methods for detection and removal of false minutiae from the fingerprint image. |
