Presently, there is a great demand for automated systems. Smart energy meter is one of the solutions for effective energy management to fulfill the objectives of the smart city mission. In this paper, the proposal of a smart energy meter that makes use of IoT and Arduino is presented for automatic metering and billing. IoT is used for sending the data like current, energy in kilowatts, and bill in rupees to the cloud and app. Overload indication and meter tampering information will be sent to the substation. Hence, they can curb energy theft, which is a huge problem that any country is facing at this moment. |
