Fundamental frequency of a cantilever composite filament-wound anisogrid lattice cylindrical shell

Popis: Free vibrations of a cantilever composite lattice cylindrical shell with the rigid disk attached to its free end are considered in the paper. The filament-wound lattice cylinder is modelled as a continuous shell characterised by the effective stiffness parameters. The governing equations of motion are derived using the semi-membrane theory of orthotropic cylindrical shells. The free vibration problem formulated based on these equations is reduced to a transcendental equation. The solution of this equation yields the fundamental frequency of the composite lattice cylinder under consideration. The results of calculations are verified by comparison with a finite-element solution. The effect of the angle of orientation of unidirectional helical ribs on the magnitude of fundamental frequency is studied using a parametric analysis.
