Peyronie’s disease (PD) can affect several areas of a man’s life: psychological well-being, body image perception, sexual functioning, sexual self-perception, social life and sexual relationships. Moreover, according to the literature, partners of PD patients often seem to have decreased sexual function, sexual satisfaction and mood. Considering all the delicate psychological and sexual issues related to PD, psychosexual therapy could be highly beneficial both to the patient and to his partner. A good team-based approach, made of urologists and sexologists, could help taking care of all patients’ need, improving patients’ satisfaction, increase patients’ compliance, save some physicians’ time and energy and decrease drop-out rates. |
