Popis: | It is indeed challenging to consider the unique structural features of sys temic fungicides that confer mobility within plants. Hopefully, if we can elucidate the important factors, the search for new systemic fungicides will be expedited. In particular, the discovery of fungicides that are translocated downward in the phloem to control root-invading pathogens is sorely needed. First, the physiological and chemical requisites for systemicity are dis cussed, then several groups of systemic fungicides that exemplify unique requisites for mobility in plants. Lastly, future prospects and direction of research are summarized. Previous comprehensive symposia (2,8) and chapters (10, 14) have dealt with other aspects of the subject. |
