Popis: | This paper will discuss the magnitude of earth correction terms calculated from available references. It is concluded that Carson's earth correction terms are predominant, and curves detailing the magnitude of these are presented. Examples showing the magnitude of Carson's earth correction terms for a given line at 60 c/s, 50 kc/s, and 1 Mc/s are shown. A modal analysis, using the technique developed in a companion paper, shows the effect of the earth correction terms on the modes of propagation and confirming field test results are given. |
