Popis: | Classical gene characterisation using deletion mutants generated by homologous recombination is slow and can only be applied gene for gene. In our studies we established the iPool-seq method in the pathosystem of Ustilago maydis and Zea mays. This method uses parallel insertion sequencing to identify mutants with growth deficiencies under specific conditions. Furthermore, due to adaptability, the iPool-seqcould be capable to identify novel gene functions not only in plant-pathogen-interactions but in a broad range of organisms. |
