INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE AS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR OF PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY OF SOCIAL SPHERE SPECIALISTS

Popis: The purpose of the article is the study of intercultural competence as an important component of the professional activities of social work specialists. Research methods uswd: theoretical analysis of literature, generalisation of scientific definitions. The article analyzes and summarizes scientific interpretations of the concept of intercultural competence of specialists in the social sphere; The main features, components of the ways of its improvement are highlighted. In the context of multinational Ukrainian society, the problem of interaction and communication in a multicultural social environment is actual, therefore, it is important to develop modern trends of intercultural interaction: appropriate knowledge and skills acquiring by individuals in the conditions of multicultural education; raising the level of communicability and tolerance of specialists, which involves the specialists’ cultural potential development in the social sphere. The intercultural competence of a social worker is a condition of his competitiveness; the basis of success in his duties accomplishment; an important indicator of the professional competence of the specialist’s personality and his capabilety to master and use practically an unlimited range of competences, knowledge, skills, socio-cultural literacy and scientific outlook. Social workers should ensure equality of people’s rights and freedoms, promote the citizens’ ethnic and cultural rights implementation, prevent interethnic, interreligious, social conflicts, promote harmony in society. Intercultural competence of the social sphere specialists promotes the effectiveness of intercultural cooperation; the harmonization of social relations between different groups, between representatives of different ethnic groups and cultural traditions; harmonization of interpersonal relations in a professional environment. Formation of ideological culture, spirituality, tolerance, conflict culture, communicative culture, linguistic culture of the social professions specialists, which is possible on condition of readiness of the specialist personality to interact with other systems of cultural orientation and is based on respect for other cultural values, are the main directions in the process of intercultural competence formation. Polycultural development of a social worker personality in the process of forming intercultural competence is a logical and integral process of cultivating a system of intercultural and universal values on the basis of a dialogue of cultures and spiritual values. Intercultural competence is the basic professional competence of a social worker. Intercultural competence of the social sphere specialist, the components of which are a value-cognitive, motivational, activity parts, ensures its readiness for professional activity in the conditions of the ethno-cultural diversity of modern society
