A single trial was excavated at 8 High Street, Holbeach, Lincolnshire, on the proposed site of a pair of semi-detached house. The site lies close to the west of end of All Saints parish church, on the opposite side of Church. The trench revealed no evidence of significant archaeological deposits. Thick silt deposits occupied the lower levels of the trench, while fragmentary remains of late post medieval housing was revealed in the upper levels of the trench. Disturbance from modern services and from demolition of the earlier housing was in evidence. |
