Popis: Education for all (EFA) has been a major goal of nations around the world. For children with disabilities, inclusion in the general education classroom is a priority as expressed in the Salamanca Statement (UNESCO, The Salamanca statement and framework for action on special needs education. World Conference on Special Needs Education, Access and Quality, 1994). Yet implementing inclusive education has been a challenging endeavor for countries in the Caribbean. One limitation in current research is the lack of strong quantitative studies examining the accessibility to general education classrooms for students of varying abilities. In this chapter, we will consider how quantitative research methods are being used to investigate current inclusive educational approaches in the Caribbean. Potential quantitative studies related to inclusive education will also be discussed. A key area of interest is how to measure and assess inclusive education. We argue that more quantitative data and analytical approaches will enable policymakers to develop more informed educational guidelines that encourage and promote inclusive practice.
