Popis: The design as well as analysis of a novel dual band antenna, for satellite communication, with operating frequency 7.75 GHz and 9.4 GHz is proposed. For the design of the antenna a Rogers RT/Duroid 6202 laminated substrate was utilized. The substrate height has been chosen as 1.6 mm. The length and the width of the patch are respectively taken as 27.5 mm and 38 mm. The chosen dielectric constant is 4.4. The simulation results of proposed antenna are done with the help of IE3D Zealand Software (V-12.0). The results are analyzed by considering return loss, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), current distribution and elevation pattern. This antenna finds C band (4 GHz to 8 GHz) and X band (8 GHz to 12 GHz) applications where it can be used for RADAR application as well as satellite communication.
