In order to verify that the tilt gage tracks the motion of the pelvis, a study was performed to compare pelvic motion, in this case rotation, measured by the pelvic motion device (PMD) with the motion measured by the tilt gage alone. Seven subjects (five men, two women) were tested. A regression model was used to assess the degree of accuracy in predicting the actual PMD angle from the voltage on the tilt gage. It is shown that a change of 1 V in the tilt gage resulted in decreases of 7.67 degrees on the PMD. The regression model explained 96.8% of the variability in PMD angle. The tilt sensor provides an accurate measure of the angle of tilt of the pelvis. The technique provides continuous monitoring of pelvic tilt in a sitting position. > |
