Popis: Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) content was established in soil (2 depth levels: 0–20 cm and 20–40 cm) and plant samples (leaves of Taraxacum officinale) collected in the area of the railway junction. Soil and plant samples were collected in two following years 1995 and 1996 in four functional parts of the junction, i.e. the loading ramp, platform areas, railway stock cleaning bay and the railway siding. It was found that the PCBs contamination was high in surface level of the soil and in the plant leaves. The variable content of these compounds and high concentration of hexa and hepta PCBs suggested the migration of lower chlorinated PCBs, possibly via atmosphere.
