Sodium and potassium films deposited from a molecular beam on fluorite at liquid air temperature have been found to be transparent in the Schumann region. For λ > 1400 Å no transparency has been found in the case of lithium. A technique for producing these films is described. The theoretical bearing of these results is discussed. |
