Popis:	The rate of volatilization has been determined of solvents of composition (1 − x )(0.454 PbO : 0.546 PbF 2 ) · x B 2 O 3 with 0 x 3 Al 5 O 12 solutions. The data are consistent with strong bonding between B 2 O 3 and PbO, and a model is proposed to explain the beneficial role of B 2 O 3 in reducing the number of Y 3 Al 5 O 12 crystals nucleated from this solvent system.
