Parity doublets and the Mandelstam-Sommerfeld-Watson transformation in backward K+p elastic scattering

Popis: K + p backward elastic scattering and polarization are described in terms of u -channel exchanges. In the Reggeization of the scattering amplitudes, use is made of the Mandelstam-Sommerfeld-Watson transformation and rotation functions of the second kind. The residues are assumed for convenience to depend meromorphically on u rather than on √ u . A description is obtained in terms of only two adjustable parameters of all existing measurements on elastic K + p scattering and polarization for incident laboratory momenta above 1.5 GeV/ c and centre-of-mass scattering angles larger than 120° (cos θ
