Study of complex-formation of copper(II) with ampholytes containing nitrogen-phosphorus

Popis: ESR was used to examine special features of complex formation of copper (II) in aminophosphorus-containing ampholytes. It was shown in the resin phase, according to the pH value of the equilibrium solution, degree of hydration, phosphorylation and the type of ampholyte, various spectra with different parameters are observed. To obtain information about the composition of copper complexes in ampholytes, ESR spectra of Cu(II) were studied in dilute solutions of α-methylene phosphonic acids and anion-exchange resins, which were used to obtain the ampholytes examined. The most probable composition of complexes in the systems studied was determined and it was shown that stereochemistry of coordination centres in ion-exchange resins is comparatively slightly distorted, compared with low molecular weight analogues. A comparative evaluation was made of the strength of complexes formed in resin by adsorption from solutions with varying salt composition and pH value. The effect of hydration on the rearrangement of the coordination sphere of copper in ampholytes was explained.
