The paper presents a theoretical model to describe the charge collection process for HgI{sub 2} gamma detectors. The standard deviations of full energy peak distributions are shown as a function of mean drift lengths of electron and holes. Calculated spectra shape changes versus variation in the internal detector electrical field distribution are studied. Simulated spectra are compared wit experimental data. The model assumptions and results are discussed. 18 refs., 4 figs. |
