Popis: Along with the development of computer technologies, computer simulations have been developed to predict various phenomena. One of the phenomenon that are being pursued by scientists around the world is problematic of foundation in contact with subsoil. Calculating an estimated deformation with computer has an advantage, that even large problems with complicated geometry can be solved relatively easily with comparison to analytical calculations which are suitable mainly for simple shapes of foundations whereby the upper structure is expressed by loading. However, the problem is that although the computational models are constantly developed the optimal procedure is still don't known to provide sufficiently accurate results that works under all conditions. Hence it is necessarily to explore behavior on simple models before proceeding to a large scale modeling. To observe this problematics series of numerical models based on the theory of elastic half - space was constructed in Ansys. Some models had constant width of subsoil while depth was changing and others was made with constant depth with changing width. All other variables were defined identical for all models. Also three different types of boundary conditions were investigated. Dependence of the width of cube size and height of cube size in response to the boundary conditions to the total deformation was inspected.
