Popis: The article is devoted to detection and analysis of wavelet filter features for nonstationary signals with time-varying characteristics. The actual problem of complex wavelet estimation is described. The wavelet coefficients responsiveness to the signal frequencies is shown. This technique allows determining the signal frequency passbands using the optimal fitting wavelet basis. The software implementing this method is presented. These methods are applied to the problem of waviness and roughness profile allocation of metal surfaces treated by milling and they could also be used for any types of nonstationary data such as telecommunication signals, satellite navigation, medicine data, financial series, etc.
