Hydrogen bond and IR spectra of polyurethanes

Popis: In the IR spectra of polyurethanes obtained using aromatic diisocyanates, in many cases a multiplet nature of the carbonyl absorption band is observed. Thus, in the investigation of copolyurethanes by the method of IR spectroscopy [i], we found that in the spectrum of PUIf, produced on the basis of 2,4-toluylene diisocyanate (2,4-TDI) and 1,4-butanediol, two bands are observed in the ~egion of vibrations of the C=O groups bonded by an H-bond, 1665 and 1700 cm -I. The band ~ e appears at 1730 cm -I. With time (after 0.5 yr, the same sample), the band 1665 cm -I is weakened with increasing intensity of the band 1700 cm -:.
