Popis: | The kinetics of carbon dioxide release during the interaction between ozone and an aqueous solution of formic acid in a bubble column reactor has been studied for the first time. A simple and effective method of determining carbon dioxide in a gas stream has been developed. It is shown that the formation of 1 mol of CO2 corresponds to the consumption of ~2.4 mol of O3. The value of the true rate constant of the reaction between O3 molecule and formate ion HCOO− has been found (120 ± 15 L mol−1 s−1 at 20–21°C). It has been confirmed that O3 does not interact with undissociated HCOOH molecules. |
