Popis: | Nanostructured Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 (PFN) ceramics were synthesized by an innovative processing route, which involves micro-milling and spark plasma sintering (SPS). This procedure allows obtaining samples with high densities and minimal grain growth. In this sense, the parameters involved during the SPS procedure and the sintering mechanisms were considered. It became evident that the pulsed dc electric current, high heating rates and simultaneous application of pressure improved the transport mechanisms responsible for shrinkage and densification, making it possible to lower the sintering temperature and thereby avoid the grain growth that occurs in conventional sintering. |
