Popis: | Sensitive and selective thin layer chromatographic methods have been developed for the analysis of three veterinary drugs. The first one is the determination of Amprolium HCL (AMP) and Ethopabate (ETHOP) in a mixture and in the presence of their degradation products. It was carried out on a TLC plates, silica gel 60 F 254 using acetonitrile-methanol-ammonium acetate buffer at pH 8.2 in the ratio 2:3:0.5 (v/v/v) as mobile phase. Quantification was carried out with UV detection at 274 nm and 272 nm for AMP and ETHOP, respectively. Forced degradation studies were performed using 4 M NaOH. The second one is the determination of Florfenicol (FLO) in presence of its related impurities Chlormphenicol (CLO) and Thiamphenicol (TIO). The analysis was carried out on a HPTLC plates, silica gel 60 F254 using chloroform-methanol-formic acid in the ratio 9:1:0.1 (v/v/v). Quantification was carried out with UV detection at 226 nm for FLO. Linearity ranges, mean recovery and relative standard deviation were calculated. The methods have been successfully applied for the determination of the cited drugs in bulk powder and in pharmaceutical formulations. The results obtained were statistically in full agreement when compared with a reported method. |
