On a generalization of the Dirac equation for a description of the quark structure of nucleons

Popis: | A generalization of the Dirac equation in the form of a system of three relativistically covariant equations for three bispinors corresponding to nucleon quarks is suggested for a description of nucleons. Within the framework of this generalization, expressions are derived for quark nucleon currents satisfying the differential equation of charge conservation. The suggested equations are investigated for nonrelativistic nucleons interacting with a constant uniform magnetic field. It is demonstrated that the intrinsic magnetic moments of the proton and neutron obtained in the present work agree with their well-known experimental values. |
