Popis: | Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were functionalized with residues of either 3-sulfolene or diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate through the Diels-Alder reaction. The structure of the functionalized MWCNTs was characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and by nitrogen adsorption with pore size analysis using the Density functional theory models. Thermogravimetric analysis in an inert atmosphere demonstrates the presence of the grafted pendant groups, which can be active centers for future effective functionalization. |
