Popis: | Gardner syndrome (GS) is a genetic disease characterized by polyps of the colon, multiple osteomas, multiple dense bone islands, multiple impacted teeth, and skin and soft tissue tumors. A significant feature of GS is the high risk of polyp malignancy; this usually occurs in the third and fourth decades of life. Early detection based on the dentomaxillary findings of GS is important to prolong the life of the patient. We herein present a clinical case of a 31-year-old woman with no complaints related to GS. Evaluation of the radiographic findings and consideration of the differential diagnoses allowed for an early diagnosis of GS and saved the patient’s life. This case demonstrates the importance of careful dental and radiographic examination. |
