Popis: | This paper presents the adsorption study of carvacrol on clay material (bentonite). The material (Raw bentonite) used was provided from Nador in the North-East of Morocco. The clay underwent a serial process of purification and exchanging with sodium chloride. The obtained purified and modified clay (Na-bentonite) was analyzed using XRD, FTIR, TGA and BET which results show an improvement in the mineralogical and surface structures compared to the raw material. For the adsorption study, different carvacrol concentrations (5–845 mg/l) and three solid/liquid ratios (0.01–0.03%) have been used. The experimental isotherm data were analyzed using the Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin models. Models data have shown that Freundlich model was best fitted for high values of equilibrium concentration and for low solid–liquid ratios with an adsorbed amount of 110 mg/g. |
