Popis: plutonium(VI) with iron(II) in which the end point is detected amperometrically with a rotnting platinum electrode. The plutonium is oxidized to the sexivalent state in a sulfuric acid medium with argentic oxide, the excess oxidant destroyed by heating, and the plutonium titrated by the addition of standard iron(II) suifate from special weight burets. For 15-mg samples, precisions of plus or minus 0.06% relative standard deviation are obtainable with no significant bias. For 0.2-mg samples, the relative standard deviation is 0.4% with a 0.6% negative bias. (auth)
