Popis: A code has been developed to automatically simplify full chemical mechanisms. The method employed is based on the Intrinsic Low Dimensional Manifold (ILDM) method of Maas and Pope ''. The resulting simplified mechanism is stored in look-up tables, which contain both reaction rate information and fluid properties. These look-up tables have been included as an option in the National Combustion Code (NCC). In this paper, the techniques used to implement the tables are described, including interpolation methods, property requirements and memory requirements. In addition the performance of the tables are investigated in the case of a bluff-body combustor and a piloted diffusion flame, test cases recommended by the Turbulent Combustion Workshop in 1994.
